Gevrey-Chambertin 1998 - Henri Rebourseau
Gevrey-Chambertin 1998 - Henri Rebourseau
Grevrey-Chambertin
Low stock: 2 left
Gevrey-Chambertin are above all wines for laying down. This appellation is often considered to produce the most powerful wines in Burgundy. Which is, in our opinion, quite fair.
The 1998 vintage is generally good in Burgundy and especially in Côte de Nuits. But we will have to pay particular attention to the quality of the estate because there were also some big failures. With Rebourseau, you are at peace.
Have you ever tasted Gevrey wines that are less than 15 years old? Apart from the fact that it is a crime to drink them so young, it is also a real shame because they do not yet fully develop the bouquet of liquorice, leather, fur and undergrowth that characterizes them in their maturity.
If you want to discover or deepen your knowledge of Burgundy wines and particularly the influence of vintages, it is probably with the wines of Gevrey that you should engage.
