Haut-Batailley 1987 - Pauillac

This wine is a bit of a "ghost" wine for us. You know those wines that you know exist but almost never taste. Not that we don't like them, just that the opportunities don't come along often. The same could be said of Petrus, but that's another issue.

There were originally 3 bottles of this Haut-Batailley 1987, but we put one aside to taste and give you our feedback quickly.

This Pauillac is renowned for its high concentration of Cabernet Sauvignon (around 70%) which gives it a very great ageing potential. Rated 82 points for this more than complicated vintage, it could be a very nice surprise, especially offered at such a price.
