Hermitage La Chapelle 1976 - Paul Jaboulet Ainé
L'Hermitage La Chapelle is an anthology wine in the world of wine lovers. "A hill and a legendary history have built, over the centuries, the mythical reputation of this great vintage."
The history of this hill is quite pretty. But to summarize, a knight, in the 13th century, decided to isolate himself from the world and settled at the top of this hill, he was, little by little, joined by others who decided to plant vines there. The Hermitage actually owes its name to the hermit, the vineyard was already existing in Antiquity with the wines of Vienna.
The wines have exceptional aging potential, up to 40 years and more! The vintage comes from very old Syrah vines on stakes.
The 1976 vintage is among the top 5 most successful of the estate. Although it does not live up to the legendary 1978 vintage, it remains a magnificent wine with 97 Parker points!
