The Great Lady Rosé 2008 - Veuve Clicquot

Launched in 1972 for the bicentenary of the Veuve Clicquot House, this cuvée pays homage to Madame Clicquot, nicknamed "The Great Lady of Champagne". It constitutes the ultimate expression of Pinot Noir through the VCP style.

Assembly :

• 92% Pinot Noir: Grands Crus of Aÿ for the Grande Vallée de la Marne, Verzenay, Verzy, Ambonnay and Bouzy for the Montagne de Reims
• 8% Chardonnay: Grand Cru of Mesnil-Sur-Oger on the Côte des Blancs

It is a blended rosé, since its color is obtained by adding red wine from Pinot Noir from the commune of Bouzy, precisely from Clos Colis, one of the best plots located in the heart of this Grand Cru.

Dosage: 6g/L

Cellar potential of 15 years

Tasting notes:

• Color: Brilliant, some copper highlights, fine bubbles.
• Nose: Salty and mineral notes on the first nose, followed by notes of red fruits, toasted hazelnuts, cocoa, sweet spices.
• Palate: Lots of flesh and substance. Crisp and silky texture. Tannins present.
• Long finish that coats the palate.
