THE HAUT-BRION MISSION 1988 - PESSAC-LEOGNAN
The vineyard of the La Mission Haut-Brion estate covers 29 hectares.
The 1988 vintage was somewhat overshadowed by the 89 and 90 vintages. While the fear of rain unfortunately prompted some Châteaux to harvest too early, others were able to wait to produce superb wines, extremely tannic and powerful but elegant and with incredible potential for aging and improvement. We are rediscovering them with pleasure today, finally ready to drink.
In 1988, it was the Margaux, Graves and Libournais that produced the greatest successes. This Mission Haut-Brion is one of them. Just like a 1986 Pauillac, we advise you to open it at least 6 hours before tasting to give it a chance to express itself in the glass.
