Château Lafite Rothschild 1985 - 1st Grand Cru Classé of Pauillac
1st Grand Cru classé of Pauillac, Château Lafite-Rothschild is often considered the most popular of the 5 premier grands crus
About the 1985 vintage : A very classic vintage, particularly suited to great wines for laying down. And it just so happens that this is a Lafite, possibly the greatest red for laying down from the Medoc. The 1985 vintage is similar in many ways to that of 1982. The harvest is healthy, the grapes are ripe with thick skins and the tannins are there. 1985 will even be a little less "rustic" than 1982.
Tasting advice: Lafites almost always need to be opened at least 12 hours before tasting. This vintage is no exception. You can also decant it at least 4 hours before tasting.
