Maison Leroy - Chassagne-Montrachet 1er cru "Morgeot" 2014

About the Maison and Domaine Leroy:

Leroy offers two activities. A historic trading activity "La Maison Leroy" on the one hand. And a winegrower activity "Le Domaine Leroy" on the other hand.

The "Maison de négoce Leroy" was founded in 1868 by François Leroy, until then a winemaker and owner of vineyards in Auxey-Duresses and in the most beautiful appellations of Burgundy. It is the emblematic Mrs. Lalou Bize-Leroy who has managed the house since 1971. The wines from the trade and bearing the name "Leroy" are always selected with the greatest care and produced in very small quantities.

The "Domaine Leroy" owns 9 plots in the grand cru appellation, 8 in premier cru, 9 in village and some generics. All the plots have been converted to biodynamics since their acquisition and this, since 1988.

The Leroy name is today a must-have, renowned for its consistency and extreme quality for all bottles bearing its name.

About the vintage:

This 1er cru Morgeot is a great wine for laying down, ample and balanced by this great 2014 vintage, neither too hot nor too cold. The clay soil of Morgeot brings roundness and fatness where the limestone subsoil brings freshness and minerality. This 1er cru of Leroy rivals many great vintages.

About the 2014 vintage:

The 2014 vintage is a great success for all the white wines of the Côte de Beaune.
