The Carmes of Haut-Brion 2013 - Graves
Les Carmes de Haut-Brion 2013 was a great success with the most famous tasters who rated it generously.
To name just a few, René Gabriel, the renowned Swiss taster, gave it a score of 19/20, Y. Beck 98/100, the WA 92 points out of 100, 17.5/20 for Bettane & Desseauve or 16.5-17.5 for the RVF.
As such, 2013, which is a mixed vintage across the whole of France, has borne fruit for Les Carmes de Haut-Brion. It should be noted that, often, the Graves do better during difficult years than the appellations located further north.
2013 was marked by weather conditions that were not necessarily favorable, the winter was cool and very rainy, rains that are found in abundance in the spring and lead to heterogeneous growth and flowering. The Merlots are then condemned to a low yield. This is followed by a hot summer marked by storms.
2013 was fraught with pitfalls, but Les Carmes de Haut-Brion managed to pull through, overcoming a major technical challenge to produce one of the Château's prides.
In short, you will have understood, a great tasting in perspective!
