Les Forts de Latour 1971 - Second wine of Château Latour - Pauillac
About Château Latour
Classified as a premier grand cru in 1855, this Château, with its exceptionally consistent quality, is still among the favourites of great Bordeaux lovers. The Château produces three wines: Le grand vin, Les Forts de Latour and a 3rd wine soberly named Pauillac.
This second wine, produced from the Château's young vines, is marketed after 6 to 8 years of aging at the Château. This vintage regularly reaches the quality levels of great Châteaux such as Lynch-Bages or Pichon Baron.
The 1971 vintage is a great success according to the Château itself. You can find information about the climatic conditions of this vintage on the Château's website. Chateau Latour
Exceptional provenance: These bottles come from a cellar of a great Swiss wine enthusiast and collector. We have acquired the complete collection containing more than 200 bottles of mainly French and Italian wines. The bottles have all been preserved following their purchase en primeur or shortly after their marketing on site, in a natural cellar buried under a 16th century convent. A damp cellar, which is why some labels are very worn. The levels are generally excellent or perfect and the most "fragile" bottles testify to conservation in total darkness for more than 30 years!
