Champagne Louis Roederer Rosé 2006
Presentation of the house:
The Louis Roederer house was founded in 1776 and is now run by Frédéric Rouzaud, the 7th generation of the family. Located in Reims, it extends over more than 240 hectares of vines, mainly located on the grands crus of the Montagne de Reims. Louis Roederer is also known for its famous Cristal champagne, created in 1876 for Tsar Alexander II.
Presentation of the vintage:
Louis Roederer Rosé 2006 champagne is a blend of Pinot Noir and Chardonnay wines, with a small proportion of Pinot Noir red wine added. This rosé champagne owes its elegance to a special vinification method called "saignée", which involves removing part of the must after a short maceration of the grapes. This technique produces a beautiful pink colour and subtle aromas of red fruits.
Presentation of the vintage:
The 2006 vintage was a particularly successful year for Champagne wines. The grapes were healthy and ripe, resulting in rich and complex wines with a beautiful acidity. The Louis Roederer Rosé 2006 is a generous and elegant champagne, which offers a beautiful aromatic complexity and great finesse.
Food and wine pairing:
This rosé champagne goes wonderfully with refined dishes such as shellfish, smoked salmon, sushi or roast poultry. It can also be enjoyed as an aperitif, to celebrate a special moment.
Service tips:
The Louis Roederer Rosé 2006 should be served chilled, between 8 and 10°C, in champagne flutes to highlight its beautiful pink color. It can be enjoyed now, but also kept in the cellar for several years for later tasting.
