This unique terroir gives the wines their structure, complexity and longevity, characteristics that have made Lynch-Bages famous throughout the world.
Presentation of the 1981 vintage:
1981 is a classic and underrated vintage, offering balanced and subtle wines, particularly enjoyable today for lovers of mature Bordeaux. This 1981 Lynch-Bages perfectly embodies the house style, combining robustness and elegance.
Tasted in November 2024 by us:
The bottles are in a sad state but the levels are excellent and the wines are perfectly preserved.
Its evolved garnet color reflects its beautiful age. On the nose, it expresses a rich complexity with dominant tertiary aromas: leather, blond tobacco, undergrowth, mushrooms, accompanied by touches of jammy red fruits and cedar. On the palate, this wine offers a beautiful roundness, melted tannins and a structure that is still very present. The finish, of great finesse, reveals notes of liquorice and nuts.
