Château Lynch Bages 1982 - 5th grand cru classé of Pauillac (Only and it's a scandal!)
At WUAT Christophe has always had a great love for Lynch Bages. It is indeed with this wine that the passion was born. We do not joke with Lynch!
Lynch has always embodied Pauillac in its purest style. Powerful and very difficult to taste in its young years, it becomes magnificent and unique with age.
1982 is clearly one of Lynch-Bages' greatest achievements. Here are Robert Parker's comments about it in 2011:
Beautifully ripe with sweet, sun-kissed cassis, fig, roasted herb and loamy soil characteristics, the dark plum/garnet-coloured 1982 has opulent, fleshy flavours and a full-bodied finish. All the tannins are resolved, the acidity is low and this rich, deliciously flavoursome wine is in full bloom.
Exceptional provenance : These bottles come from a cellar of a great Swiss wine enthusiast and collector. We have acquired the complete collection containing more than 200 bottles of mainly French and Italian wines. The bottles have all been preserved following their purchase en primeur or shortly after their marketing on site, in a natural cellar buried under a 16th century convent. A damp cellar, which is why some labels are very worn. The levels are generally excellent or perfect and the most "fragile" bottles testify to conservation in total darkness for more than 30 years!
