Moët & Chandon Vintage 1998 - Millésime Blanc
Moët & Chandon Vintage 1998 - Millésime Blanc
Champagne
Low stock: 2 left
Presentation of the vintage: White Vintage
Why is this Champagne called that? Well, we have no idea, especially since it is not a blanc de blancs.
This vintage from the Moët wine library is in fact the first vintage bottle before the superb "Grand Vintage" range (previously brut imperial vintage and therefore vintage Blanc). You know the vintage range with the black label on which the vintage is written in chalk.
History of the House of Moët & Chandon
Founded in 1743 by Claude Moët, Moët & Chandon is one of the most emblematic houses of Champagne. Known for its prestigious vintages, notably the famous "Dom Pérignon", the house of Moët has embodied excellence and refinement for over two centuries.
Presentation of the 1998 Vintage
The year 1998 was marked by a contrasting climate in Champagne, with a mild winter followed by a rainy spring and a very hot summer punctuated by a few storms. These conditions gave rise to grapes of beautiful maturity, particularly favorable for vintage champagnes, with an excellent balance between freshness and richness.
Bottle condition: Excellent
Level: Perfect
Color : Perfect
Label: Very lightly worn
Details: This is an old bottle (disgorged around 2005). Since the "Grand vintage 1998" which are recently disgorged were produced more recently.
Food and Wine Pairings
Moët & Chandon Vintage 1998 pairs perfectly with:
- Starters: Salmon tartare or scallop carpaccio.
- Dishes: Roasted poultry with herbs, sea bass fillet in a salt crust or creamy porcini risotto.
- Cheeses: Matured Comté or Brillat-Savarin.
- Desserts: Pear tart or vanilla millefeuille.
This champagne is perfect for all bubble tasters. Fine and elegant, it will seduce connoisseurs. Aromatic and smooth, it will charm discoverers.
At Wuat we are not fond of the Moët & Chandon brand. But we must admit that the old vintage cuvées are sublime.
These Champagnes will still be able to be kept for many years and we advise you to taste them before the prices rise too much, and this has already started.
