You probably don't know this vintage, unless you are a Burgundy wine historian or a great lover of Clos des Lambrays.
The Cosson family who produced this Morey-St-Denis were at that time owners of Clos des Lambrays until 1996.
The Cosson estate moved upmarket at the end of the 1970s, the wines were produced with more modern techniques and with more care. It is no coincidence that the Clos des Lambrays obtained the Grand Cru level in 1981.
The estate still exists today under the name Etienne Cosson.
The year 1988 being a great vintage in Morey-St-Denis, there is a strong chance that this bottle, impossible to find today, will be a pleasant tasting moment.
