Chateau Pavie 1985 - Saint-Emilion
During the first classification of the St-Emilion crus in 1955, Château Pavie was classified B. Since 2012, they have moved up a gear and are now premier cru classé A, which is a testament to the quality of the wines and the seriousness of the estate. Château Pavie is distinguished by a great diversity of terroirs.
The annual production of Château Pavie amounts to 70,000 bottles. Aged in barrels for 18 to 32 months and 70% to 100% new wood depending on the vintage.
The 1985 vintage is classified as exceptional for Saint Emilion wines, just like 1986 and 1989.
With all due respect to a certain taster, Pavie 1985 is a powerful monster made for aging, an "Old School" Bordeaux. Just like a Cos 1986, it will need several hours of opening to express itself. The kind of wines that we particularly appreciate at WUAT.
