Red Pavilion 2006 - Château Margaux
The second wine of the famous Château Margaux.
Most of the second wines of Bordeaux chateaux appeared 30 or 40 years ago, but at Chateau Margaux, Pavillon Rouge was created in the 19th century and has been called Pavillon Rouge since 1908. However, it was discontinued in the mid-1900s before being brought back into fashion in 1977 by André Mentzelopoulos.
The terroir is identical to that of the first wine but the difference lies in the blending of the different batches. Young vines are used for this second vintage. The vintage is released after 15 to 20 months of aging.
When tasting this Pavillon Rouge 2006, you will find aromas of violet, spicy notes, pomegranate, and ripe fruit. A lively and fresh wine.
