Pommard 2012 "The Vaumuriens" - Chantal Lescure
Pommard
Low stock: 3 left
Pinot Noir from vines over 45 years old, certified organic.
Soils: White marl and hard limestone
Limited yields of around 35 hectolitres per hectare.
Pre-fermentation maceration followed by fermentation with indigenous yeasts.
Light aging in 30% new 500-liter barrels to limit the use of wood.
Tasting notes by WUAT: We have tasted this wine several times. It is ample, round and powerful. The tannins, very present, melt after an hour in a carafe. The style is very classic, but accessible to all. A real serious Pommard to be enjoyed with spicy dishes. Open and decant at least two hours before tasting.
