Trotanoy 1999 - Pomerol
Do you know where the name Trotanoy comes from? In old French, "trop anoi" or "trop ennuie" means weariness from working the land.
The estate, just over 7 hectares, is located on one of the best exposed parts of the famous Pomerol plateau.
The Jean-Pierre Moueix establishments (Latour, Lagrange, Belair-Monange, Dominus, etc.) acquired it in 1953.
The mix of soils gives the wine power and depth as well as great complexity.
Château Trotanoy is one of the most sought-after wines of Pomerol and produces wines suitable for decades of aging!
1999 is an average year in Bordeaux, but Trotanoy's expertise allows him to obtain between 86 and 92 points. It remains a very great Pomerol to be tasted at least once.
Tasting notes by René Gabriel from January 2022:
Château Trotanoy 1999, Pomerol:
Color: Medium dark garnet, beautifully ripened with transparent rim.
Nose: Open bouquet, beautiful chocolatey notes, finely expansive, delicate sweetness of plum.
Palate: Very present and pleasant in the mouth, although less fleshy than the 1998 vintage. It has passed its peak but remains very pleasant in the mid-palate. The finish is long and pleasant.
Was well received by the public! 17/20
