This vintage Champagne, from an exceptional harvest year, was composed and aged from musts from the premier crus of our vineyards. Having slowly matured in our Gallo-Roman chalk quarries in Reims, it has the personal style of our house and the inimitable taste of perfection. The predominantly floral aromas, all in finesse, of the Chardonnay blend with the fruity and persistent structure of the Pinot Noir. Honor this bottle by keeping it in the dark at a cool and constant temperature.

Wuat's Review : Beyond the orange brand image, this 1988 vintage cuvée from Veuve Clicquot is extraordinary! This "vintage reserve" version is the original version and not the "recently disgorged" one that bears the name "rare vintage". The Veuve Clicquot house that we contacted for information about these cuvées was unable to provide us with any information.

We tasted this "vintage reserve" version in 2020 and it was one of our best tasting memories. These bottles are among those that we remember for a long time. We remember when we drank it and with whom. In short, you taste a moment, not a champagne.

We also strongly recommend that lovers of champagnes and old vintages taste the vintage cuvées of many major houses (Mumm, Moet, Besserat, De Venoge etc.) before high demand makes them unaffordable.

These old bottles, if aged in good conditions, reveal charms that are very different and much more attractive than the recently disgorged vintages. But this is only our humble opinion.
