The commune of Riceys is located in the southernmost part of the Champagne vineyard, on the edge of Burgundy.
Everything is particular for this wine. 100% Pinot Noir produced in very limited quantities only in great vintages. Carbonic maceration and aging in oak barrels for this very fruity wine, not very tannic but suitable for aging.
An atypical wine since it is a champagne wine, without bubbles, whose appellation is "rosé des Riceys" but which is in fact a very light and fruity red.
In short, a very original wine with particular aromas of crushed strawberries and red fruits. We tasted this bottle in 2017, the wine is not very expressive when opening and will require time in the carafe to open.
A particularly original bottle for a blind tasting. Surprise guaranteed.
