Insolite or "Unusual" Chardonnay 2005 - Côteaux Champenois - J. De Telmont
L'Insolite 2005 - Coteaux Champenois - J. de Telmont is a dry white wine produced by Telmont. This house, known for its quality Champagnes, was bought by a group of which Leonardo di Caprio is a member to move towards the most natural wines possible.
This dry white wine is made from 100% Chardonnay grapes, and was aged in Burgundy oak barrels of 1, 2 and 3 wines, for 11 months with stirring. This aging method gives it a beautiful complexity and woody and spicy notes that blend perfectly with the aromas of white fruits and white flowers.
L'Insolite 2005 - Coteaux Champenois - J. de Telmont is a rare and unusual wine, produced in the Champagne region but without bubbles. It is a gastronomic wine, which will perfectly accompany fish and seafood dishes, as well as characterful cheeses.

Opinion of WUAT: If you like great Chardonnays "Old School style" with fat but an acidity allowing it to cross the decades without a hitch, taste this wine! We advise you to slip it in the middle of a tasting of Pulligny or Chassagne, it should pass the tests without arousing suspicion.
A little anecdote, the white Côteaux Champenois are so rare that even Anne Sophie Pic cannot offer them on her wine list.
