Sancerre 2016 - Dagueneau - En Chailloux
Exclusive cuvée
75 cl - 12.5% Alc vol
Perfect condition
The most famous producer of the "Blanc Fumé de Pouilly" available here in its exclusive 2016 Sancerre vintage. The "blanc fumé" is the name given to the sauvignon blanc grape. Grape variety born in the Loire Valley and which always expresses itself with vivacity and elegance at Dagueneau.
Sauvignon Blanc is a relatively "easy" grape variety, it tolerates hot, cold, humidity and dryness to make it short, it is flexible and adapts well to various terroirs and climates. It is, moreover, very aromatic and produces very dry wines as well as sweet wines.
Unfortunately, some (too many) producers have abused this too great flexibility. Sauvignon is found everywhere, of varying quality, to put it mildly.
The good point with Dagueneau is that they make the wine as it should be, where it should be. This Sancerre, from a very small plot, is no exception to the rule. The wine is lively, very lively, all in freshness and acidity. Citrus fruits and pebbles, that's all we like.
WUAT's review: As with almost all Dagueneau bottles (which weigh a ton and are very large btw), the wine is crispy, very fresh and deceptively simple. Once again, this cuvée is intended for connoisseurs. This is an almost impossible to find cuvée, don't think too much before ordering it because the opportunity may not come again.
