The Champagne of the Queen of England !
Pol Roger Extra Cuvée de Réserve 1998
The Pol Roger estate, in Epernay, was born in 1848, when Pol Roger, 18, sold his first bottles.
The Sparnacian house remained family. It is known to be Winston Churchill's favorite champagne. It is also the benchmark wine of the English court, and was notably served at the wedding of Meghan Markle and Prince Henry.
The 1998 vintage, a blend of Pinot Noir and Chardonnay, offers us a nose of ripe fruit and roasting as well as a good length in the mouth and real complexity.
A champagne with character that deserves to be known!
Tasted in December 2020, this Champagne offers incredible freshness and youth and can wait many more years in the cellar.
