About the estate

Located in Chassagne-Montrachet in the south of the Côte d'Or, Château de la Maltroye has been a family property since 1939. The estate has 15 ha of vines. 13 ha are located in the Chassagne-Montrachet appellation, 60% of which are Premier Cru.

About the 2018 vintage:

This is a very good vintage, the hot and dry summer allowed early harvests in very good sanitary conditions for the grapes. The Chassagnes of this vintage can be stored without difficulty for about fifteen years or be tasted today.

About the cuvée:

These are very old vines over 60 years old which bring a lot of aromatic complexity. Aging in 30% new barrels for one year. The palate is rich and powerful thanks to the clay soil and the quality of the vintage. The limestone subsoil brings freshness and minerality
