Comtes Lafon 1996 - Meursault "Clos de la Barre"
Level: Perfect
Color: Perfect
Label: Stained and slightly torn
Overall condition: Very good
With a rich history that began in Meursault at the end of the 19th century, the now legendary Domaine des Comtes Lafon is still a family property today managed by the descendants of Jules Lafon.
The vineyard has "only" 16.30 hectares spread over 15 appellations from 4 municipalities: Meursault, Chassagne-Montrachet, Volnay and Monthélie.
This Clos de la Barre cuvée is a monopoly of only 2ha12 located just behind the house of the estate. The vines on the plot are 30 to 80 years old.
This unique Meursault, with a mineral and lively character, will need to age for several years to settle down. Young, it will unveil citrus aromas which will evolve towards more pastry and mineral notes over time.
The 1996 vintage harvest took place from September 23 in very good sanitary conditions.
