Arbois 2009 Trousseau Magnum - Domaine Rolet
Created in 1942 by Désiré Rolet, the Rolet estate is one of the jewels of the Jura vineyard. Two generations succeeded each other at the head of the estate before they handed over to three families passionate about wine and the Jura, including a family of Burgundy winegrowers.
The wines of Domaine Rolet express all the richness of the Jura terroir through a wide range of local grape varieties (Chardonnay and Savagnin for the whites, Poulsard, Trousseau and Pinot noir for the reds) and several appellations: Arbois, Côtes du Jura , L'Etoile and Château-Chalon.
This cuvée comes from 100% destemmed Trousseau. Indigenous yeasts are used and a malolactic is performed.
Aged for 9 months, half in stainless steel vats and the other half in barrels.
The vines of this cuvée are planted in the communes of Montigny-les-Arsures on the slopes in "Chagnon" and "Leuvrin" as well as in Arbois at a place called "Montesserin".
The soils are rich in iridescent marl and chalky clay, the ideal land for Trousseau.
