Terroir: Very poor granite soil, filtering and draining
Vineyard: 2.5 Ha 100% Syrah with low yield. This 1994 Cuvée comes from the original Cornas plot of the estate whose vines were planted in 1919! Another larger plot of 4.3 ha of young vines was planted in the early 2000s and has since been used in the cuvée.
Vinification: Manual harvest, 100% destemmed. Modern vinification in thermoregulated stainless steel vats with regular pumping over and punching down. Important extraction, vatting and long maceration of 3 weeks to obtain a concentrated wine with intense color.
16-month long aging with moderate wood intake: 25% new barrels, 20% one-year-old barrels and 55% two-year-old barrels.
