Located a few kilometers south of the Margaux appellation, Château La Lagune is one of, or probably the most famous Haut-Medoc castle.
Known for its power and its great aging potential, it is easy to confuse it with an other Margalese wine such as Château Lascombes or Château Giscours.
This 3rd grand cru in the 1855 ranking which extends on more than 80 hectares profits from a long 18 months aging in oak barrels (55% of new wood).
If you are looking for a classic style Bordeaux at a price / pleasure ratio, this wine is for you.
In the same way as 2001 the 2002 vintage is one of the best for the domain. The slight lack of maturity of the grapes perfectly suited to the know-how of the house that has been able to vinify it in its classic style "tannin, wood and time". 20 years later this La Lagune is finally ready to drink but can still age for some few years.
We advice you to open it at least one hour befor serving it. You can also use a decanter if you want to give it a chance to open up its flavors.
