Haut-Batailley 1987 - Pauillac
Low neck level
Good overall condition
This wine belongs to the "ghost" club for us. You know these wines which you know they exist but which you hardly ever taste. Not that we don't like them, just that the opportunities don't often present themselves. The same could be said of Petrus, but that's another problem.
There were originally three bottles of this Haut-Batailley 1987, but we put one aside to taste it and get back to you quickly.
This Pauillac is renowned for its high concentration of Cabernet sauvignon (around 70%) which gives it great aging potential. Noted 82 points for this more than complicated vintage, it could be a very nice surprise, especially offered at such a price.
