One of the most famous areas of Bandol with Gaussen!
The vines dominate the valley, up to an altitude of 300m, not far from the sea. At this altitude, the nights are cool and the grapes ripen slowly.
Aging takes place in oak barrels for 18 months.
The winter of 1997 was mild and dry, foreshadowing a significant drought, but finally beautiful spring rains resulted in heavy vegetation, enough to prepare the vines to face a scorching summer. In mid-September, the harvest produced perfectly ripe, thick-fleshed and perfectly healthy grapes.
On tasting, the nose is on black fruits, the palate is rich in attack with a beautiful fullness, with fine and elegant tannins. As it ages, the wine becomes rounded and develops a superb aromatic complexity, always black fruits, with sweet notes of spices and a minty freshness.
A superb wine to keep! Will you have the patience to let it rest in the cellar or will you taste it now?
