"Without the sun, I am nothing"
Located on the land of the oldest vines in France, Château Vignelaure was taken over by Georges Brunet (Former owner of Château la Lagune) at the end of the 1960s.
Monsieur Brunet renamed the Château Saint-Estève to Vignelaure (Vigne de Laure, muse of the poet Petrarque). He initiated the cultivation of Cabernet-Sauvignon in Provence. The grafts coming directly from La Lagune. Eloi Dürrbach will vinify two vintages there before creating the Trévallon estate with the success that we know of.
After several changes of ownership, the estate is once again on the way to good quality.
Only 235,000 bottles produced for this 1978 vintage. The estate is swept by the winds, allowing it for many years to practice cultivation without chemical fertilizers, herbicides or synthetic insecticides. This information has appeared on labels since the early 1970s!
An exceptional vintage in Provence, all the conditions were met to produce great wines for laying down.
Unlike many old wines where Cabernet Sauvignon is the main variety, we advise you NOT to decant it because you will lose the balance between sweetness and acidity. A wine that will provide great emotions to lovers of old and original wines.
