The Jean-Joseph Moreau house is the oldest in Chablis, it has existed since 1814. 105 ha of vines belong to the appellation 1er cru "Vaillon". This 1er cru is particularly well exposed. On gentle slopes, facing south / south-east on kimméridgien marls, and compact slabs.
The 1994 vintage is considered a "Great Vintage" in the same way as 1998 or 1986.
Tasted in August 2021 (you know this "summer" during which the temperature did not exceed 25 °c in Switzerland): On the nose, we have notes of orange peel and pastry cream. It is on the palate that we are a little disconcerted, a very dry, frank wine, and unlike those to be expected given the color, very little oxidized. A pleasant surprise in the end.
We obviously let Luffy our "work in progress" manager do a quality control, everything is ok.
