About the cuvée:
The great cuvée is produced on the best terroirs of the castle on soil types: Mindel gravel terraces, sandy-clayey subsoil. In good years around 250,000 bottles are produced. The extremely regular quality of its wines makes it one of the Bordeaux Châteaux whose coast has been the most appreciated over the last twenty years. Bottles purchased en primeur and kept in their original wooden cases.
About the 1996 vintage:
A vintage with capricious and surprising seasons. A particularly hot winter, a freezing spring, a very hot and humid summer and a lot of rainfall in September. In short, everything could have ended badly. But the know-how of the Château has made it possible to extract the best quality from the grapes and particularly from the Cabernet Sauvignon. The result is one of the greatest successes of the Médoc, rated 90 RP points.
