Château Gruaud Larose 2007 - Second cru classé de Saint-Julien
About the domain:
Since its creation in 1725, only 4 families have succeeded each other at the head of this second classified growth, accounting for nearly 82 hectares. The Gruaud Larose family, then Balgueries and Sarget who gave their name to the estate's second wine, the Cordier family and today the Merlaut.
Like many great chateaux, Gruaud Larose has turned to viticulture that respects the environment in "agroecology".

About the cuvée:
The Chateau produces only two wines: The great wine you have here and Sarget, produced with young vines or less interesting terroirs.
60% fermentation in cement vats and 40% in oak barrels. followed by aging for 16 months in 50% barrels. This vintage required all the know-how of the Château and a lot of technique to produce a quality wine. We advise you to consult the 2007 vintage sheet available in the attached documents to learn more.
About the 2007 vintage:
It is a very complicated vintage due to the heavy rainfall but "honourable" according to the words of the Château. A little harsh at first, it should be close to its peak today.
