About the domain:
Since its creation in 1725, only 4 families have succeeded each other at the head of this second classified growth, accounting for nearly 82 hectares. The Gruaud Larose family, then Balgueries and Sarget who gave their name to the estate's second wine, the Cordier family and today the Merlaut.
Like many great chateaux, Gruaud Larose has turned to viticulture that respects the environment in "agroecology".

About the cuvée:
The Chateau produces only two wines: The great wine you have here and Sarget, produced with young vines or less interesting terroirs.
50% fermentation in cement vats and 50% in oak barrels. followed by aging for 18 months in 80% new barrels.

About the vintage:
2015 is a great vintage for laying down, Cabernet Sauvignon particularly benefited from the very hot and dry summer. Often compared to the 2005 vintage, it can be enjoyed today after a long decanter to round off the tannins or in several decencies.
