THE Grand Vin of Château Beychevelle, the second being Admiral de Beychevelle.
The summer offered very good climatic conditions to the vines, but the drought slowed down ripening, then a period of rain at the end of September finally restored vigor to the suffering vines. The harvest was therefore very good and the grapes of good quality thanks to meticulous work in the vines and the harvest.
The Merlots give a very beautiful fruit, pure and clear, better than 2011. The Cabernets are fine with a beautiful natural fruitiness, the tannins are elegant.
The 2012 vintage is in conclusion elegant and fruity with fine and silky tannins giving an attractive wine, on the level of vintages like 2008 and 2011.
