The Grand Vin de Léoville from the Marquis de Las Cases comes from exceptional terroirs. The Cabernet Sauvignons and Cabernet Francs give this wine its own typicity.

This Saint-Julien grand cru, ranked 2nd in 1855, is almost always among the best Bordeaux.

Léoville Las Cases 1981: Tasting notes by R. Parker 

This wine, which seems close to maturity, has an excellent deep ruby color, and reveals a spicy bouquet of cedar, tobacco and redcurrant. Displaying excellent depth and maturity, it is classic and elegant, but no better than pure Cabernet Sauvignon vintages, despite its relatively complex blend. (Tasted in 1995)

Exceptional provenance: These bottles come from a cellar of a great Swiss enthusiast and collector. We have acquired the complete collection containing more than 200 bottles of mainly French and Italian wines. The bottles were all preserved following their purchase en primeur or shortly after their marketing on site, in a natural cellar buried under a 16th century convent. A damp cellar, which is why some labels are very worn. The levels are generally excellent or perfect and the most "fragile" bottles demonstrate storage in total darkness for more than 30 years!
