Dom Pérignon Rosé 2006 Champagne Box
Often considered as a "Jet-Set" Champagne, Dom Pérignon rosé nevertheless has many assets to seduce the most demanding champagne lovers. This cuvée is indeed particularly sensitive to the vintage effect due to the importance of the Pinot Noir it contains. However, an unripe Pinot is not a good Pinot, we swear you so.
The old vintages (1960-1980) had a certain tendency to appeal to the tastes of the time, which is normal you will say. They were then much higher in sugar (between 3x and 5x sometimes more) than are the vintages today.
It is said that the high sugar content linked to the natural acidity of champagne wines allowed them to age without a hitch. However, as they age, champagnes have an unfortunate tendency to lose their bubbles. And a rosé, sweet, bubble-free, and potentially slightly oxidized wine, if not kept very carefully, may not be to everyone's taste today.
Fortunately, the "modern" vintages benefit from more advantageous climates. The amounts of sugar are much lower or even absent and the wines are better balanced and more regular.
The Dom Pérignon Rosé 2006 cuvée is an exceptional champagne that combines the finesse and delicacy of Chardonnay with the richness and power of Pinot Noir. It offers aromas of ripe red fruits, citrus fruits and toasted notes, which develop in the mouth to reveal a silky texture and a long finish.
