Bottles out from the estate! In excellent state of conservation and aging.
Domaine L. de Vallouit was a magnificent family estate in the northern Rhône Valley. One of the few to have vines in all the northern Rhône appellations, with the exception of Château Grillet, of course. In 2001, the estate's vines were taken over by Guigal, which incorporated them into some of its most prestigious cuvées.
We tasted this cuvée in May 2022 with other cuvées from the estate L. de Vallouit. This Châteauneuf seemed particularly young and fresh. This freshness is due to the presence of Co2. We don't know if this is a happy coincidence or the estate's desire to keep "carbonic" in some of its cuvées from this period.
You will therefore need to open and decant this bottle at least 12 hours before enjoying it. If, like us, you dong belong to the "waiters" type. You can also shake the bottle to release the Co2. Method a little rustic but terribly effective.
On the palate the wine is ample and round with present but perfectly smooth tannins. It offers aromas of black fruits, spices, dried herbs and liquorice. A very nice surprise for the adventurers of tasting.
