La Millière 1995 - Châteauneuf-Du-Pape
Level: Very good
Color: Perfect
Label: Stained
Overall condition: Excellent
The La Millières estate in Châteauneuf-Du-Pâpe currently has 27 hectares of vines.
Owned by the Arnaud family (this time it is not an LVMH in question) and operated since 1983 by the fifth generation, this domain was mainly focused on the export markets Great Britain and the United States in the lead. . This is why it is little known in France and Switzerland.
The vinification and blending of this 1995 vintage are classics. Grenache dominant for around 60% of the blend and some other usual grape varieties 10% Syrah, 10% Mourvèdre and 20% Cinsault and Counoise.
1995 is an excellent vintage for the reds from the south of the Rhône Valley. This bottle should be near its peak. Excellent value for money.
