About the domain L. De Vallouit:

Domaine L. de Vallouit was a magnificent family estate in the northern Rhône Valley. One of the few to have vines in all the northern Rhône appellations, with the exception of Château Grillet, of course. In 2001, the estate's vines were taken over by Guigal, which incorporated them into some of its most prestigious cuvées.

About the Vonière cuvée:

This is a parcel cuvée from the Domaine de Vallouit. Tasted by us in June 2022, this cuvée will require several hours of opening before being tasted. This is a rustic Côte-Rôtie that is always rich and concentrated, with notes of garrigue and liquorice. It will go perfectly with a spicy meal such as stew or game.

About the 1990 vintage in Côte-Rôtie:

An excellent vintage for all Rhône wines and particularly for the Northern Rhône in Côte-Rôtie and Hermitage. The Syrahs are concentrated, balanced, rich and very aromatic. As often the great vintages of Côte-Rôtie age very well.
