The Krug House was founded in 1843 Joseph Krug. His dream was to create the best Champagne possible each year, regardless of the annual climatic variations. He achieved this by paying particular attention to the character of the vineyard and by respecting each parcel in order to build up a large library of reserve wines from different years.
Since that time, Krug has remained a family home, with 6 successive generations.
Today, the cellar master draws from 400 wines to produce her cuvées (250 wines of the year + 150 reserve wines from 14 different years).
The house strives to ensure that each Krug Millésimé expresses the unique character of its year. The cuvée brings together the most expressive wines from the same year, enhanced by aging for more than 10 years in the cellar. Every Krug Vintage is different.
