La Grande Dame Rosé 2008 - Veuve Clicquot
Launched in 1972 for the bicentenary of Maison Veuve Clicquot, this cuvée pays homage to Madame Clicquot, nicknamed "La Grande Dame de la Champagne". It constitutes the ultimate expression of Pinot Noir through the VCP style.
Blend :
- 92% Pinot Noir: Grands Crus d'Aÿ for the Grande Vallée de la Marne, Verzenay, Verzy, Ambonnay and Bouzy for the Montagne de Reims
- 8% Chardonnay: Grand Cru du Mesnil-Sur-Oger on the Côte des Blancs
It is a blended rosé, since its color is obtained by adding red wine from Pinot Noir from the town of Bouzy, specifically Clos Colis, one of the best plots located in the heart of this Grand Cru.
Dosage: 6g / L
Aging potential of 15 years
Tasting Notes:
- Color: Bright, some copper highlights, fine bubbles.
- Nose: Saline and mineral notes on the first nose, followed by notes of red fruits, toasted hazelnuts, cocoa, sweet spices.
- Palate: Lots of flesh and substance. Crunchy and silky texture. Tannins present.
- Long finish that lines the palate.
