Founded in 1843 in Aÿ, the Besserat de Bellefon house is recognized for its production of "gourmet" champagne.
It was born from the marriage of Edmond Besserat and Yvonne Méric de Bellefon.
Indeed, not undergoing malolactic fermentation, their champagnes are considered to be wines for aging with 30% finer bubbles.
The house owns 25 hectares and sources grapes from local winegrowers to increase their production capacity.
Besserat de Bellefon champagne nowadays belongs to the Lanson-BCC group.
Wuat's advice: Just try it ! We did taste some old bottles from Besserat de Bellefon, which is not the most famous Champagne house, and they were awesome.
