Champagne Salon Cuvee "S" 1996 Le Mesnil Blanc de Blancs Brut

Salon Champagnes are among the most exclusive along with Krug Champagnes. Located in Le Mesnil, the House was created in 1905 by Eugène-Aimé Salon. For once it is not difficult to find your way around the cuvées. Salon produces a single Cuvée, the "S", made from a single grape variety, the chardonnay grand cru, exclusively from the Mesnil-sur-Oger, always vintage and only in very great vintages. All these reasons make it an exceptional and unique Champagne.

Tasting Notes Salon 1996: A pale yellow wine with green highlights. The bubbles are fine and active. Bouquet with aromas of green apples, first, then the freshest citrus fruits, lemon, grapefruit, with a softness of pear, kiwi. Complex and fresh palate, minerality at its peak.

Tasting advice: A champagne to be tasted "barely chilled" between 13° and 15° to appreciate all its power.
