Hermitage La Chapelle 1976 - Paul Jaboulet Ainé
Hermitage La Chapelle is a wine of anthology in the tiny world of wine lovers."The mythical reputation of this cru has been built, over the centuries on a legendary hill and history "
The history of this hill is quite pretty. But to summarize, a knight, in the 13th century, decided to isolate himself from the world and settled on the top of this hill, he was, little by little, joined by others who decided to plant vines there. The Hermitage actually owes its name to the hermit, the vineyard already existed during Antiquity with the wines of Vienne.
The wines have an exceptional aging potential, up to 40 years and over!
The cuvée is made from very old Syrah vines on stakes.
The 1976 vintage is among the top 5 greatest successes in the field. Although it does not live up to the legendary 1978 vintage, it remains a grandiose wine with 97 Parker points!
Note from WUAT: We are offering this bottle at the world's best price (because it's fun), it may sell out quickly.
