The denomination "Vine of the Child Jesus" refers to a historical anecdote. It is said that Margaret of the Blessed Sacrament, Carmelite founder of the Domestics of the family of the Holy Child Jesus, would have predicted the birth of King Louis XIV of France while his mother Anne of Austria was barren. At the birth of the future Sun King, this exceptional vineyard belonging to the Carmelites took the name of "Vine of the Child Jesus". In 1791, during the sale of national goods, the Maison Bouchard Père & Fils acquired the plot, located in the heart of the 32 hectares of the Beaune Grèves appellation. She still has the monopoly today
TASTING NOTE: Notes of cooked mushrooms and earth, very ripe black fruits. In the mouth the red cherry is still there. The wine is there, it offers a structure and a length which still show a beautiful luminosity for its age and this vintage. 1976 was a very rich vintage due to great drought and low yields, today it is taking full advantage of its long years of aging.
