Corton “Les Bressandes” Grand Cru 1978 - Edmond Cornu
The Edmond Cornu et Fils estate is located in Ladoix. It currently has 16.25ha of vines, the vast majority of which produce red wines.
The “Les Bressandes” is a large "Lieu-dit" facing south-east and is located in the heart of Les Cortons, mid-slope. It is one of the most famous places. The vines are planted on clay-limestone soil, on disintegrated rock with red, stony soil.

About the 1978 vintage in Corton:
1978 Part of the 10 best vintages of the 20th century for Cortons wines. The perfect climatic conditions have allowed the production of great wines for aging which the Corton appellation is perfectly suited to. This very well preserved bottle will surely be one of the finest examples.
Exceptional provenance: These bottles come from a cellar of a great Swiss enthusiast and collector. We have acquired the complete collection containing more than 200 bottles of mainly French and Italian wines. The bottles were all preserved following their purchase en primeur or shortly after their marketing on site, in a natural cellar buried under a 16th century convent. A damp cellar, which is why some labels are very worn. The levels are generally excellent or perfect and the most "fragile" bottles reflect storage in total darkness for more than 30 years!
