Château Calon-Ségur has one of the most beautiful historic Châteaux in Bordeaux. It was indeed the favorite of the Marquis de Ségur who, although owning small other rather pleasant domains like Mouton, Lafite and Latour (just that), preferred Calon. Hence the very famous phrase "I make my wine at Lafite and Latour, but my heart is at Calon.

The average annual production of the great wine is around 80,000 bottles, which is low compared to other local estates.

The Médoc particularly distinguished itself in the Bordeaux region in 2001. It is an irreproachable great classic!

This Calon-Ségur 2001 has a pretty ruby color. Finesse and complexity characterize it. On the palate, you will appreciate delicate aromas of spices, vanilla, fruit and liquorice. The finish is persistent.

Aged for 18 to 20 months in 100% new barrels!
