Château Pape-Clément Blanc 1981 - Pessac-Léognan

Presentation of the domain:

Founded in the 13th century, Château Pape-Clément is one of the oldest vineyards in Bordeaux. Located in the Pessac-Léognan appellation, this estate benefits from an exceptional terroir and a history rich in tradition. The château has been classified as a Graves Grand Cru Classé since 1959.

Presentation of the cuvée:

This is the emblematic white wine cuvée of Château Pape Clément. This confidential cuvée is produced on less than 3HA from three Sémillon grape varieties, Sauvignon Blanc and Sauvignon Gris before being aged between 12 and 18 months in oak barrels.

The 1981 vintage: De Grands Graves Blanc

The 1981 vintage in Bordeaux was marked by favorable climatic conditions for the production of quality white wines in the gravel. The grapes have reached a beautiful maturity, offering a harmony between freshness and aromatic richness. This vintage produced refined and balanced white wines, of which Château Pape-Clément Blanc 1981 is an exceptional example.

Food and wine:

Château Pape-Clément Blanc 1981 goes perfectly with refined dishes such as seafood, fish in sauce or delicate white meats. Its structure and complexity make it an ideal companion for gourmet dishes.

Serving Tips:

To fully benefit from all the subtleties of Château Pape-Clément Blanc 1981, it is recommended to taste it at a temperature of around 12°C. Prior aeration in a carafe can allow the aromas to reveal themselves more.

WUAT's opinion: If you are reading these lines it is either because you are curious and you said to yourself "no, but what is this bottle in poor condition", or because you perceive the exclusivity of this unique bottle from 1981, whose green reflections suggest a non-oxidized and perfectly preserved wine. There is a good chance that we will drink it ourselves if no buyer volunteers for this marvel which, we believe, will leave a great tasting memory.
